How much does fence installation cost?

Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Every project gets a free, fixed quote after a consult. We walk the project, agree on a scope, and put a number in writing. No deposit to get a quote.
What is the difference between board on board and side by side?
Side by side puts pickets next to each other on one face of the rails. Board on board overlaps the boards so there are no gaps as the wood dries. Board on board gives more privacy and costs more because it uses more material.
Is cedar worth the extra cost over pine?
Cedar resists rot and insects better and holds its shape well, so many people choose it for a privacy fence. Pine costs less up front. We can quote both. See wood fence installation.

What fencing work do you take on?
Wood fences, wrought iron fences, chain link fences, driveway gates, agricultural fencing and commercial fencing, plus repair and staining. If you are not sure whether your job fits, call and describe it, and we will tell you straight either way.
Can you install pre-stained wood fences?
Yes. Pre-stained wood is one of the options we install. It gives you finished color on day one.
How long does a job take?
We give you a realistic window up front, based on the size of the property and its condition, and then we hold to it. Planning and approvals matter as much as the days on site. See fence installation time.
Will fence installation disrupt my yard or landscaping?
We keep disruption minimal. Post holes and material staging are contained to the fence line, and we clean up so your yard stays usable throughout the project.
How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?
A few loose boards or one leaning post is a repair. Several soft or leaning posts, or repeated repairs on the same line, point to replacement. Our guide to fence replacement explains the signs.
Can you build a driveway gate that opens automatically?
Yes. We install automatic and manual gates, with keypad, remote or phone-based entry. See driveway gate installation.

Do I need a permit for my fence?
It depends on your city and the height and type of fence. We check what your project needs during the quote so you know before work starts.
What about HOA rules?
Always check with your HOA before installing, especially if you are changing height, like going from a 6' fence to 8'. If the new fence matches what is already there, approval is usually straightforward, but get it in writing first.
What happens to my timeline if the weather turns bad?
We do not install in the rain. Wet ground means ruts in your yard and a messier job, so if rain is in the forecast, we move your install to the next available day rather than push through it.
